You also get a few perks with your membership that include: FFFTV, Community, Add-ons, and Dashboard. One of the cool things about this box is I can send 6 people a free starter box. All they have to do is pay $5 for shipping. The items: Yumi Kim Wireless Charging Pad: $35 ~ If you have an iPhone it has to be an 8 or higher to work with it. My iPhone is a 6 so it is useless to me. HydroPeptide® Moisture Reset Face Oil: $120 ~ At first, I didn’t like the smell but it really grew on me. This is an amazing product. I could see a difference with the first use. My face feels fresh and soft. TOMS Sydney Sunglasses: $58 ~ In person they are plain and the shape is weird, but I like them. They will for sure come in handy in the Texas sun. Silked Satin Pillow Sleeve: $29.50 ~ Nice and soft. I have it on a cooling pillow and it stays cool. Even my husband likes it. Issac Mizrahi Loves Xo, Sienna Vase: $28 ~ This vase is so cute. I thought it was going to be large so I was a little worried. Turns out it is small and perfect. I really like the textures and look of it. Winky Lux Uni-Brow Universal Eyebrow Pencil: $16 ~ This I won’t use but it is pretty. MakeupDrop Hybrid Makeup Applicator: $20 ~ Since I don’t wear make-up this won’t be used. Spongellé Coconut Verbena Hand Cream: $18 ~ This product makes my hands soft and it isn’t oily. I use it at least once a day. I will probably order more. Box Total: $324.50 Overall thoughts: I really like the box. It was nicely presented. The products are pretty amazing. I use the face moisture oil everyday. The hand cream is also amazing. I ordered on May 14th. It was shipped at the end of May and I received it on June 10th It is worth the $50. The Fall 2020 box comes out in August.

4/22/2020 0 Comments I have a rare genetic disorderI have a rare genetic disorder called Neurofibromatosis Type 2. It is a complicated, lonely neurological disorder that affects our brains, spinal cord, nervous system, and skin. There are three different types: Type 1 (affecting about 1 in 3000), Type 2 (affecting about 1 in 40000) and Schwannomatosis (affecting about 1 in 40000). There is two ways to get the disorder, your parents or sporadic mutation. This disorder has a 50% chance of being passed to the carrier’s children. Type one can be found with a simple blood test while it is harder to find Type 2. The best way to find Type 2 is through the testing of a removed tumor. NF1 mutates chromosome 17 while NF2 mutates chromosome 22. Doctors are not sure about the gene mutation for Schwannomatosis. People living with NF are affected in different way but for the most part we all live with pain. NF1ers have to deal with café-au-lait spots, NF2ers have to deal with tumors, and Schwannomatosis people have to deal with massive amounts of pain. Sadly, there is no treatment or cure for Neurofibromatosis.
My personal experience: I found out I was an NF2er in October 2015. For several years I had been living with hearing loss of my left ear. I was never about to go get it checked because it costs a lot of money, something we just didn’t have. So then President Obama gave us the Affordable Care Act and because I am a registered member of the Choctaw Nation, I pretty much got 100% free health care. So, I went and had my ears checked. The doctor told me I needed to see a specialist. He did a hearing test and an MRI. Not only did I have significant hearing loss I had had two tumors on my brain and one in my left ear. The tumor in my left ear is wrapped around my vestibular nerve and at the time was pushing on my brain. Ouch! On May 4, 2016, I had radiation. I choose that route because 1) I didn’t want to have a 14-hour surgery on my head and (2) eeek pain! I live with a lot of ear ringing and pain. I have lots of pain in my head. I feel like someone stabs me and then it is over. My feet and legs bother me all the time. Walking around Wal-Mart is usually so painful I am bent over walking slowly out. I do not have much energy for even the smallest task. When I found out about my NF2 and did the research I was so thankful I never had children. I would never want to pass this on to anyone. Even though the chances are 50%, that is just too much of chance to pass it on for me. I have prepared myself and my family for my early death. Now having said all this I am still positive and have a great outlook on life. God choose me to carry this burden for a reason. I feel blessed everyday in his mercy and grace. Now I didn’t go into great detail for a reason. I want you the reader to go on the web and research. I want to thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my blog. I decided to begin this because I needed a way to get all my creativity out. Plus, I really love the idea of sharing my thoughts and feelings with the world. So, with that said let me introduce my self to you. As I said my name is April. At the time of this writing, I am two days from my 38th birthday I was born Aril, 9, 1982 which what Good Friday. I have always felt blessed because of this. I was born and raised in Texas and still call it my home. I love Texas. My hometown is the most amazing place during the winter. It is just beautiful to me. I am an only child which sucks. I have always wanted older siblings. Do not let your kids be only children, it is so lonely. I am married to a great guy. He will be along sometimes to write blogs and co-write with me. We have been together since 2001, a true blessing I know. We have no human children but we do have a furkid. Her name is Elvira aka Ellie and she is almost 12. We rescued her after she was surrendered to an animal shelter. My Ellie lived in a puppy mill till 2015. We adopted her on July 4, 2015. She is an interesting little thing but we love her so much. I am a high school graduate and did some college. I have hopes to get a degree in History someday. My dream will forever be to go to Harvard. I have a rare genetic disorder called Neurofibromatosis Type 2. I will make a blog post on that in the future. Now that you know a little bit about me let me talk about this blog. I will tell you upfront that I am very opinionated and have strong views and beliefs. Sometimes I may come off as offensive but please remember it is just my personal opinion. Some of the things I plan on writing about include world topics. As I write this the world is in the middle of a pandemic, COVID-19 aka Coronavirus aka the carnivorous virus (yes that is what I call it). There may be a blog about my thoughts and feelings on it but it seems to be everywhere. I also plan to write about the places I visit. I live in Houston, Texas. We have so much to do and see. When we are allowed to go out again you will see the city through my eyes. I hope to have product reviews also. My husband and I are going to do blogs about couple things. That will be fun. I am going to try to get him to do blogs about man things. Even though ladies will mostly read this and it is geared more toward women, we can not and should not leave the dudes out. One last thing, as soon as I get a good camera and learn to edit, I will be including a YouTube channel. If any of you have this for that please let me know. Well, that is all. I hope that you enjoyed this introduction and you are not scared away. I look forward to this journey and hope I keep you entertained. Until next time ~April |
